Whether it’s your first PCS or your fifth, preparing for a military move is no small task. That’s why we’re excited to roll out the 2026 AHRN PCS Toolkit, a fully refreshed guide built to make your relocation easier, smarter, and more seamless than ever before.

Using your feedback from previous years, we’ve added new tools, timely updates, and fully interactive features designed for today’s military families. Here’s what’s new and improved in this year’s edition and why you’ll want to download it before your next set of orders arrives.

Now Supporting OCONUS Moves

Moving overseas? We’ve got you covered. The PCS Toolkit includes a dedicated section for OCONUS/Overseas relocations.

We break down everything you need to know to successfully transition to life outside the continental U.S. with tips on cultural adaptation, paperwork, and vehicle shipment.

Updated PPM and PCS Reimbursement Information

Several sections of the toolkit were updated to reflect current PCS and Personally Procured Move (PPM) policies. Outdated language stating the government covers 95 percent of PPM move costs was corrected to the current 100 percent reimbursement rate. This update was applied consistently across all PPM and DITY move explanations to ensure accuracy and clarity.

Travel reimbursement content was also updated from 2025 to 2026, including all associated dollar amounts and references, so Service members are working with current-year figures when planning their move.

2026 Date and Reference Updates Across the Toolkit

All remaining references to 2025 were reviewed and updated to 2026 where applicable. This includes linked resources and anchor text that previously referenced the prior year, ensuring the toolkit reflects the correct PCS cycle throughout the document.

Hyperlinks were restored across every section of the downloadable toolkit to ensure all referenced resources are accessible. Each page was reviewed to confirm links were active and correctly routed to the intended source material.

In addition, navigation jump links were added to improve movement within the document, making it easier for users to find key sections without excessive scrolling.

Improved Interactive Features in the Downloadable PDF

Interactive elements within the PDF were rebuilt to improve usability. This includes restoring checkboxes and adding fill-in fields where users can enter information directly into the document.

These updates allow the toolkit to function as an active planning resource rather than a static reference, supporting both digital and printable use.

Beyond restoring individual hyperlinks, the toolkit’s overall navigation experience was improved through consistent linking and page-by-page review. These updates ensure a smoother, more reliable experience when moving between sections and external resources.

Together, these changes make the 2026 PCS Toolkit more accurate, easier to use, and better aligned with current PCS guidance.
