Edmonds, Mukilteo and Mill Creek are all good options in the area surrounding Everett. Notably, Edmonds and Mukilteo are both situated South of Everett and near the shores of Puget Sound, while Mill Creek is considered a suburban area of Seattle.

These three areas are top choices among service members reporting to NAS Everett. Wherever you choose to live will depend on your preferences. It is important to consider your desired commute time, as the North Seattle Traffic on the south side of Everett can be heavy during popular commute times.

NAS Everett Community

What schools are considered the best?

There are several highly rated schools within easy driving distance of NAS Everett; although, it is important to look at the individual school, as ratings can vary considerably.

Mukilteo Elementary School is rated a 7 by GreatSchools.org, while Silver Lake Elementary School and Eisenhower Middle School are (currently) listed as 6 and 5 out of 10, respectively.

Is there anywhere that traffic is particularly bad?

Everett will never be as congested as Seattle when it comes to heavy traffic. However, the I-5 traffic coming out of Seattle lives up to the Northwest’s reputation for gridlock traffic. Depending on where you live and how much you coupon, the commissary, Safeway, Top Foods and Albertsons are all options for grocery shopping. Those who are new to Northwest living enjoy heading to the local grocery stores for the food selection that may be a bit unique compared to what they are used to.

What are the best local restaurants?

For a casual dinner out, try Brooklyn Bros Pizza, and don’t forget to sign the graffiti wall! You can also get a taste of the Islands with Bobby’s Hawaiian Style Restaurant, which was once featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.

Where do you recommend doing your clothing shopping?

Seattle has everything you could possibly want, so most head into the city for their clothing needs. That area includes several very nice malls, outlets and the famous Pike Place Market with its nearby boutique shops.

Where do you go if you want to grab a cup of coffee with friends and relax?

There are coffee shops everywhere! So, you will never run out of cozy places to settle in for a cup of coffee with a friend. If you feel up to it, you can even drive into Seattle and check out the original Starbucks, which features more drink, food and gift options than normal locations.
