Whether you are looking forward to decorating a new home after your PCS or refreshing your current one, a little inspiration can help get the process started! We’ve brought you some of our favorite places for home decor and DIY inspiration!
When you decorate a new home every 2-3 years, often with furniture that doesn’t quite fit, it can be a challenge to come up with new ideas. We’ve pulled together our four favorite places to look for home inspiration to give your decorating a jump start (or just make your Instagram feed a little more sigh-worthy!).
White Walls started with one simple mission: to help military families turn their house into a home. Starting from that one simple goal, we’ve built a network of over 20,000 service members and their spouses who believe, like we do, that having a comfortable home doesn’t have to be expensive, out of reach, or that you have to put roots down to make a place a home. We believe that you can bloom anywhere you’re planted.
In addition to Facebook groups where military families can ask questions and post their before and afters, White Walls hosts the Marketplace – a collection of hand-made home décor businesses which are owned and operated by military families.
PMQ for Two
Canadian military spouse Ariel is the author behind PMQ for Two – documenting that with “some DIY, a small budget, and a metric ton of spray-paint, glitter and elbow-grease, I have created many warm and welcoming rooms in our PMQ that represent us as a couple.” She has been featured in Martha Stewart living and won Apartment Therapy’s The Big Reveal competition in 2015. Check out what she’s done with her current military housing with her house tour! Don’t miss Ariel’s 8 Tips for Decorating After You Move to start planning how to make your next house a home.
Jones Design Company is a blog that evolved out of the author’s custom stationary business and now offers crafts, decor and home project tutorials. Get inspired by Emily’s home tour and her take on a gallery wall with the family monogram!

Sommer Meredith is a Navy spouse and a “new” mom to 2 boys, ages 8 and 9, that she and her husband are in the process of adopting. Her business, Personally Anchored, came from her passion for crafting, creating and a desire to start a family. Life as a new mom, a spouse and a business owner keeps her busy, but her social media feeds are an inspiring glimpse into a life that she loves.
