At the beginning of the year motivation is high. There are so many things that I’m excited to check off my list in 2016 – which makes it the perfect time to tackle some big projects like getting my home organized and clearing clutter! As I prepare for my cleaning marathon, I rounded up 7 of my favorite ways to get (and keep) my home organized in 2016.
Keeping my home organized makes an incredible difference in my family’s daily life. A little organization makes everything easier to find, cleaning quicker and our home more comfortable to live in. I’ve found that productive organization has a couple key factors in common:
- Easy to use: If it’s not easy for us to use/get to, then it might as well be an extra large paperweight.
- Sorting: All of my favorite tools include some kind of sorting function. It helps to make it easy to find a specific item when you need it.
- Makes the most of space: Rentals and military housing mean that I’m often using my furniture in new and creative ways. I might have 5 closets in one house and 1 in the next, so strategies that allow me to utilize otherwise unused space are vital.
